New school for Hingaia South
This Government is investing around $153 million in school property across greater Auckland as part of Budget 2016 Papakura MP Hon Judith Collins says.
“Here in Papakura, I’m happy to say this investment means a new school at Hingaia South with an expected roll capacity of 700 students” says Ms Collins.
This new investment follows nearly a quarter of a billion dollars over the past two years to upgrade and grow Auckland schools.
“In February I was pleased to join Associate Education Minister Nikki Kaye when she announced that Redhill Primary received $10 million for redevelopment as part of the previous budget.
“We are also seeing the construction of Kauri Flats School in Takanini as part of that commitment” says Ms Collins.
With more than a third of New Zealand’s population living in the Auckland region it is important that our schools have the capacity to deal with roll growth and have flexible spaces to support innovative learning environments for students.
“National will be delivering more than 17,000 new student places in Auckland by 2019. I am proud that Papakura is benefitting from National’s continued commitment to education and the future of our young people.” Ms Collins said.
